Well ..........3 weeks pose tend to suit me. After panicking towards the end of the session and sending myself into a coughing fit I managed to come to a sort of end to the painting. I will let the painting lie for a bit and then just tidy up a few bits ...........relief, as I have a painting that has come to a conclusion. I am going to continue with the group and challenge myself with hands and feet for the next sessions. But for now a 3 week break......Phew!

2nd week of painting Melissa. She is quite a vibrant character and the colours that surround her suit her character. Last week next week and then a three week break.
Absolutely delighted to be taking part in this years Twitter Art Exhibition in aid of charity. The exhibition is taking place in New York's Trygve Lie Gallery (317 E 52nd St., New York, NY 10022), so if you are in the vicinity it will be an excellent exhibition to go and see and buy some work. The show runs March 31st - April 21st, 2016 and is in aid of Foster Pride’s “Handmade” Program, in which young women in foster care learn to create and market a unique line of goods. Over 400 entries have been received and a small sample is shown here. My entry is top left.
Lydia is such a lovely model. She posed for about 2 hours with her legs lent up against the back of a chaise lounge. Not a very comfortable pose and where I was standing not a very dynamic view. The thing that caught my interest was the tones in her flesh on her legs. Last week next week until the new year.
Here is the piece I have been working on. The second week of a two week pose. Lydia the model is a very pretty girl and here pose was that of a reclining figure. I worked on the background during the week as I ha taken photos of the fabric when Lydia was taking a break. Over all a more finished piece of work and a much more satisfying piece of work. Next week a male model. Yikes!
Week one of a two week pose. Lydia the model was reclining in the pose. I had a limited palette and did not have the lemon yellows that I needed for the fabric that surrounded her body. It is an under painting getting the placement right. The hand is a problem and the angle of the face. Oh well.........lets see how this turns out next week. One thing that I feel is slightly better is that I have recycled an old painting for this and depending on how this turns out it may be recycled again.
Ashford Visual Artists are exhibiting wonderful work at the lovely Godinton House near Ashford. Plenty of wonderful artwork to buy and see as well as lovely gardens. Well worth a look.
I love this little Japanese looking mini mono print. One of a series of mini mono prints I am working on.
